Hanumant Rao is an Indian Actor and has worked in many hindi and regional projects which includes notable works in Assamese and Andamani. Apart from acting he has also contributed to the cinema as a Director, Screenwriter, Vfx and Producer. Born and brought up in Nancowry Island, Andaman completed his architecture degree from Academy of Architecture, Mumbai. He has completed over 18 projects in the last 10 years.
Passion for Cinema
In the school days, his passion for dancing bought him a lot of praise and he always considered Hrithik Roshan as his role model. Apart from dancing he used to participate in all the stage drama conducted in his school and locality.
Enters to Cinema and the First Project
It happened during his college life, while studying in Academy of Architecture he never missed any dance and stage drama event which bought him in the eye of many Movie Makers and in one such event he met Mr Tarunabh Dutta, one of the ace and upcoming Movie Maker who is ready with his latest Assamese Sci-Fi thriller Avataran.
Early Career Life
After meeting Tarunabh dutta, Hanumant started working as assistant to Tarunabh and later on he was offered for a role in one his short movie “The Dark Side”, Hanumanth’s portrayal of villainous role received him a lot of appreciation and it marked the beginning of his cinematic journey. The Dark Side marked the first of Rao's many collaborations with filmmaker Tarunabh dutta and his company TD Film Studio.
Specialization in Cinema
After working for Tarunabh Dutta, Mr Rao completely dedicated himself to cinema and decided to acquire more knowledge in film making. He joined MONttAGE Film & TV Academy for learning various aspects of acting, direction and script writing under the guidance of National Award winning director Mr Atanu Biswas. While studying in the MONttAGE, Rao acted and directed many short films for Mr Atanu Biswas.
Interest towards VFX
While working with Tarunabh in his early career days, Rao was mainly involved in Graphics and VFX segment and being an Architecture student at that time he manage to learn and compose graphics contents very easily and this made him grab the opportunity to work with Tarunabh’s most ambitious Assamese Sci-Fi fictional project “AVATARAN”. Apart from working as a VFX assistant for Mr Tarunabh, Rao will be seen onscreen in the sequel of AVATARAN.
Avataran is an upcoming Assamese-language science fiction film directed and produced by Tarunabh Dutta under the banner of TD Film Studio Productions.
The film was initially scheduled for a release on August 21, 2020, but the release date has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
Released in theatres on 25 march 2022.
Production Work on TD Film Studio's Commercial Debut Venture ‘Avataran’ started in the year 2012 and has continued for over eight years now, making it one of the longest spanning film under production. Avataran will be the first full-fledged Science Fiction Assamese Feature Film. Technically, the film consists of over 80% 3D CGI VFX shots, superimposed with live video, a first of its kind in the north-east region, at such a large scale. With over a hundred casts and crews associated with the project,
Future Plans and Project:
Currently involved in his most ambitious project’s script writing, which will mark his debut in the commercial cinema as Director and writer.
Apart from working in his main project, Rao is also involved in writing many short films through which he is planning to promote the upcoming local talent and the tourism of these Islands. One such project is the “Devils Chronicle” which is under pre-production.
